Beneficiaries

Colonial Culinary Classic

The Colonial Culinary Classic will donate proceeds from the event to two wonderful organizations. Locally and widely known for their incredible record of service to the Fort Worth and North Texas community, Birdies for Charity will be one of the recipients of the event. Birdies for Charity is associated with Colonial Country Club and the Charles Schwab Challenge.

As a recognized Friends of James Beard Benefits event, Colonial Culinary Classic will also benefit the James Beard Foundation and its many programs. JBF has an amazing array of programs that educate, support and inform America’s culinary community on a daily basis.

The event is also accepting nominations for Fort Worth and Dallas area female-led culinary and food-based companies and entities for a scholarship/cash award to be given on March 4, 2024. The cash award(s) will be given women that are building, growing and/or establishing efforts that are serving their community through the many areas where food and culinary interests are the root of their efforts. If you know of a worthy candidate, please send a letter of nomination to Event Producer Dick Stephens.

ABOUT

James Beard Foundation

The James Beard Foundation (JBF) is a 501(c)3 organization that celebrates and supports the people behind America’s food culture, while pushing for new standards in the restaurant industry to create a future where all have the opportunity to thrive.

Established over 30 years ago, the Foundation has highlighted the centrality of food culture in our daily lives and is committed to supporting a resilient and flourishing industry that honors its diverse communities. By amplifying new voices, celebrating those leading the way, and supporting those on the path to do so, the Foundation is working to create a more equitable and sustainable future—what we call Good Food for Good®.

Friends of James Beard Benefits are fundraising dinners hosted by entities, restaurants and hotels around the country. Funds raised at all FOJBBs are allocated to culinary scholarships awarded in the name of the donor chef or restaurant. Remaining funds are used to support the operations of the James Beard Foundation, including administration of educational programs.
